  • We are currently seeking a Tool Crib Technician to join our growing workforce for our Weekend PM Shift.  The Weekend PM Shift offers a unique opportunity to work 36 hours - get paid for 40 hours!   You receive 4 extra hours of pay each week!  That equates to over 5 weeks (208 hours) of paid time per year!  The weekend shift works three 12-hour shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.). Overtime is available for all shifts. We offer competitive wages, practice 5S principles for efficiency and effectiveness in the shop, and work in a climate-controlled environment.

    Job Purpose: Helps CNC Operators set up jobs to keep the spindles running at maximum; providing service to all areas while striving to improve processes of the company,  maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

    Duties:

    • Interface with department supervisors to maintain schedule of upcoming jobs in machining departments.
    • Build job carts, with shop travelers, drawings, program lists, and all related fixtures and tooling in position, to provide quick changeover from one operation to the next.
    • Replace fixtures, tooling, and paperwork for all completed jobs in proper locations.
    • Maintain inventory of fixtures and cutting tools.
    • Interface with Programmers to be aware of tool requirements defined by Programmers for upcoming jobs.
    • Interface with quality personnel to follow all established procedures and continue to maintain the highest quality standards.
    • Keep all prints to highest revisions and distribute drawings to files when new revisions come out.
    • Interface with the Production Manager to continue to maximize the potential of all machine operators through feedback, assessment of strengths, and recognizing and providing opportunities for improvement.
    • Identify new equipment, tooling, etc., that will improve processes, maximize productivity, and achieve company goals.
    • Assist and support the Production Superintendent in all matters, as required.
    • Order cutting tools and print POs.
    • Maintain good safety and procedures.
    • Conform to all requirements of Seyer Industries Quality System and any and all customer invoked quality requirements (AS-9100, for example).
    • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5S standards.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Good typing skills are a must.
    • Set-up skills
      • Familiarity with machining operations
      • Ability or desire to learn to read blueprints
      • Excellent organization skills
      • Attention to detail
      • Consistent and dependable attendance.
