We are looking for a Software Developer Level 1 to contribute to the establishment of best practices, processes, and standards in software development, specifically tailored to aerospace manufacturing. This role offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that help drive these technological advancements. You will have a significant impact on the direction of our software projects, ensuring code quality, and fostering a culture of innovation!

Duties:

  • Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and maintain software applications for aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Influence Seyer's software development best practices, coding standards, and processes tailored to aerospace manufacturing requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze technical challenges, and provide innovative solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Document and maintain software architecture, design, and development guidelines.
  • Collaborate on software documentation and user manuals to ensure seamless operation and user-friendliness.
  • Contribute to the evolution of a robust software development team by actively participating in the recruitment process, and sharing your expertise with other team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations for their application in aerospace manufacturing.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Programming Languages
    • Proficient in SQL and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
    • Other programming languages a plus but not required
  • Software Development Tools
    • Familiar with software development tools such as GitHub or relevant frameworks, e.g., IDEs, version control systems, testing frameworks, collaboration platforms
    • Keen understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Database Management
    • Solid foundation in SQL
    • Comprehensive understanding of database design principles
  • Microsoft Office
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Experience in Microsoft Access and VBA programming for data analysis and reporting
  • Manufacturing Operations
    • Familiarity with manufacturing operations is highly desired to effectively tailor software solutions to industry-specific needs
    • Experience developing custom integrations between ERP system and third-party applications is highly desired
