Purchasing Agent

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team at Seyer Industries.

Duties:

• Monitor purchasing requirements, locate capable/approved suppliers, obtain and evaluate quotes, and order all required materials, hardware, processing services, etc. on time.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and lead times.
• Enter Purchase Orders using Epicor.
• Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and expediting as necessary.
• Interface with other departments (Planning, Quality, Receiving, Manufacturing, etc.) to resolve issues that may arise with purchased items/services or suppliers.
• Service internal customers with a positive attitude.
• Other responsibilities as necessary (we value flexibility).

Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to negotiate and persuade
• Positive attitude is a must
• Competent in Excel and Word, and familiar with computers in general
• Willingness to learn and adapt to challenges
• Ability to handle pressure
• Good organization skills
• Detail conscious
• Consistent and dependable attendance.
• Experience in Purchasing or Customer Service is a plus
• Knowledge of metals/raw materials and the ability to read drawings is a plus
