FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Bookkeeper reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to, overseeing the day-to-day AP and AR accounting functions, including credit card processing; maintaining accruals, prepaid expenses, real and personal property taxes, capital expenditures, fixed assets, depreciation; performing month-end general ledger functions. The Bookkeeper assists the Accounting Manager in recording payroll transactions, in monitoring, controlling, and reconciling cash, line of credit, and loan transactions, and in preparing financial statements.

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Full cycle accounts receivable processing
  • Cash receipt processing
  • Full cycle accounts payable processing
  • Cash disbursement processing
  • Fixed asset management processing
  • Microsoft Excel capabilities:
    • Utilization of tables and charts, conditional formatting and text alignment, and functions to store and present data well
    • Utilization of VLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF, IF functions, and Pivot tables to process and analyze data well

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Record weekly, semi-monthly payroll
  • Implement new Visa Payables Automation program
  • Manage Visa Procurement Card program
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts, both depository and lines of credit
  • Maintain recurring expenses (e.g., rent, utilities)
  • Implement new ERP functionality
    • Recurring AP Invoices, GL journal entries
    • AP/AR reconciliation
    • Bank statement processing and bank account reconciliation
    • 1099 processing
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, reviewing for input accuracy, preparing monthly reports and general journal entries
  • Analyze income statement expenses, reviewing for input accuracy, preparing monthly reports and general journal entries
  • Maintain required business documents and certifications
  • Prepare annual 1099's
  • Prepare business personal property and real estate assessments
  • Assist CPA auditors with annual financial and 401(k) audit process
  • Maintain financial document retention files
  • Perform other related duties as may be requested by the Accounting Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business or Bookkeeper Certification, required.
  • 3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience, required.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, required.
  • 2 years of accounting experience utilizing ERP software in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Achieving thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task is essential.
  • Proven ability to prioritize objectives and duties.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-task and fast paced work environment.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team player office environment.
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, highlighting teamwork and problem solving.
