We are currently seeking a Straightener/Welder to join our workforce in the aerospace manufacturing industry. We offer competitive wages, practice 5S principles for efficiency and effectiveness in the shop, and work in a climate-controlled environment.

This is a 1st Shift position. After training is complete, you can choose your work schedule from the many flexible work schedules we offer.

Desired Skill Set:

  • One to two years in brake press work forming/straightening
  • Minimum of one-year welding with MIG and TIG processes
  • Must be able to pass a simple groove test weld with the MIG process in the 1F position. Some training available.
  • Must have a good understanding of shop practices and theories of fabrication, such as flatness and squareness.

Equipment Used:

  • 100-ton Brake Press 10' long with a 24" wide table.
  • Various hydraulic jacks and tie-downs
  • Various welding machines such as a Miller 250, Lincoln C 300 MIG machines and Miller Dynasty TIG machines.

Typical Duties for Brake Press:

  • Simple straightening of round stock prior to lathe operations
  • Flattening of plates prior to machining
  • Complex setups of weldments to recover warpage

Typical Duties for Welding:

  • Use MIG welder to perform (fillet/groove) welds that will achieve passing results wehen reviewed by the NDT process (non-destructive testing), typically Magnetic Particle Inspection.
  • Use TIG welder to touchup or finish any welding that is incomplete, including cosmetic blemishes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to 5S + 1 safety procedures and regulations.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must have the desire to succeed at a very high level. Good opportunities for skill set advancement exist.
  • Must be team-oriented and self-driven.
  • Must have good references/referrals.
