Aerospace Manufacturing Cost Estimator

Job Purpose: Gathers objective cost data for subcontract/processing efforts as well as material and labor cost elements. All efforts are in support of construction of pricing in response to customer solicitations.

Primary Duties:

• Responsible for reviewing and understanding Bills of Material (BOM(s)) as defined by Labor Estimators, specifically, subcontract activities to include, but not limited to:
  1. Standard subcontract processing
  2. Unique (Spec controlled) subcontract processing
  3. Internal peripheral operations cost estimates
     • Packing
     • Crating
     • Scrap
  4. Unique material acquisition
     • Special tooling required
     • Unique approval requirements
     • Limited source of supply material requirements

• Identification of subcontract risks and application of cost "bumps" to accommodate risks
• Responsible for general review (sanity check) of aggregate pricing prior to submittal to Internal Sales Manager (may not always be required)
• Responsible for Budget creation for new orders (when required)
• Maintains good communication and working relationships with the department managers and other personnel.
• Maintains good communication and working relationships with suppliers and Seyer customers.

Collaborative Duties:

• In support of Internal Sales Manager and Estimating Department:
  1. Support material estimating process improvements
  2. Pursue material estimating process efficiency improvements
  3. Support Budget Creation process improvements
  4. Coordinate with Sales and Estimating Team to ensure process integrity

Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of aerospace pricing experience.
• Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers and suppliers
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Good judgment and dependable attendance
• Ability to manage priorities
• Good organization skills
• Exceptional accuracy
• Demonstrated proficiency with aerospace pricing logic
